Our Mission
The digital divide isn’t a shortage of computers.
It’s that working computers don’t reach the people who need one. So we have two missions: keep retired devices out of the landfill by giving them a second life, and deliver them to the nonprofits and schools that put them back into underserved communities.

How big is the divide?
Of all U.S. households
13.3%
or
17.7 million
have no computer or only a smartphone.
Percentage of Households Without a Large-Screen Computer, by State (2023)
Households relying on a smartphone for connectivity or without any type of computing device.
Our two missions
Keep technology out of the landfill
We promote sustainability by refurbishing devices and giving them a second life. What can’t be saved goes to U.S.-based recyclers.
Close the digital divide
We deliver refurbished computers to the nonprofits and schools that put them to work. A majority of our devices go to underserved communities.
Join the Nonprofit Network to help close the digital divide.
Buy refurbished computers for your program, or help us bring in retired ones.
The Nonprofit Network is the group of nonprofits and community programs that work with Regadget both ways. Members buy refurbished computers for the people they serve, with first dibs when bulk lots come in. Members also help us find retired devices, which we buy from them or retrieve with ITAD as a free service.

Reuse first, recycle the rest.
Schools and businesses refresh their fleets on a regular cycle. The machines that are retiring haven’t reached their end-of-life. They’re just no longer new. Here’s where they go.
Retired. A business, school or organization is done with its devices. We pick them up for free. How free pickup works
Wiped. Every drive is wiped, whichever way a device goes. Damaged drives are crushed or shredded instead. How the wiping works
Refurbished if it still works. Renewed, configured and tested by our technicians in Florence, Kentucky, who take the time to restore each device to its best possible condition. Then it’s delivered to someone who will put it to work.
Recycled when it’s past repair. Its metals, plastics and other components are recovered. Where the e-waste goes
Every device reused means fewer electronics in landfills and more opportunities for those in need.
Other ways to help
Pick the one that fits.
- Retire your devices. Computers and other end-of-life technology your organization is done with. Pickup is free.
- Donate your devices. Give your retired computers to us outright, and we put the working ones back to use.
- Refer an organization. Know a business, school or nonprofit retiring technology? Introduce us, and we’ll take it from there.
- Equip your program. Buying refurbished devices for the people you serve.
- Equip a school. Retire this year’s Chromebooks. Put what they’re worth toward next year’s.
- Host a tech drive. Rally your people to clear out old tech. We bring the pickup.
Host a tech drive. Give local old tech a second life.
Every organization has it: the closet of old laptops, the pallet of retired workstations, the drawer of devices nobody will touch. A tech drive turns all of it into something good.
You host and rally your people. We provide the flyers and the free pickup. The devices with life left are refurbished and put back to work.
We accept: laptops, desktops, monitors, keyboards, mice and other electronics.

Questions about where devices go
Does Regadget donate the devices?
No. Our refurbished devices are sold, not donated: nonprofit partners buy them with grant funding and place them with the people they serve. To buy the same way, join our Nonprofit Network.
Where does the e-waste go when a device can’t be refurbished?
To U.S.-based recyclers. Our aim is to keep raw materials from being shipped overseas. That applies to scrap only: working machines are sold on to their next owners, including nonprofits and other buyers outside the U.S.
Choosing an ITAD?
Ask each one where the working machines go. At Regadget, what we refurbish is delivered to the nonprofits and schools closing the digital divide. How our ITAD process works
